Chey releases new single She’s Got You
“Intelligent pop at it’s very best” – Vents Magazine 2017
Welsh born singer/songwriter Chey, releases new single ‘She’s Got You’. The song is a contemporary pop power ballad with a fusion of disquieting electronica, resulting in a truly absorbing listen. She’s Got You is the follow up to Chey’s previous release ‘Dirty Love’ on January 20th.
She’s Got You tells the story of a man’s infidelity and a woman’s lost love. Speaking on the track Chey says: “She’s Got You deals with the feelings of loss and rejection, losing someone can be a poignant moment in your life, it can also be the moment where you find your strength.” Chey takes a classic ballad and reshapes it into a mainstream pop anthem, the blissful pop production merged with Chey’s haunting vocals are goose-bump inducing and the touching lyrics will stay with you long after the track has finished.
To complete the release the single is backed by a remix, which transforms the smooth pop production into a high-energy dance floor anthem. Produced and remixed once again by London producer David Ezra, who has worked with X Factor finalists ‘Reggie and Bollie’ who have had over 4 million hits on YouTube. Co-written with Texas born, American singer/songwriter Tré Nation who for the past decade has collaborated with artists worldwide from the UK to Asia.
The video, directed by Manchester based company Videoink, who have received critical acclaim from the likes of Sony Music, BBC 6 Music and 4 Music created a truly compelling video, shot in an abandoned cotton mill in the heart of Manchester City Centre, once the backdrop to the UK’s biggest fashion and textile industry.
